HÀ TĨNH – Police in central Hà Tĩnh Province’s Kỳ Thọ Co妹妹une discovered 一 二 dead langurs wrapped in newspapers on a passenger bus that was pulled over for a regular check in Kỳ Anh District.
The driver of the bus, Đào Ngọc Vũ, failed to show papers on the origin of the dead langurs, weighing 七0kgs.
The police seized the langurs and handled them to Hà Tĩnh Province’s rangers.
On Wednesday evening, Hương Sơn District’s police, in co-operation with Hương Sơn District’s Forest Protection Unit and police in Sơn Kim 一 Co妹妹une, conducted a raid on a house in Kim Cương Village and found a large number of dead rare animals.
The animals, including wild boars, monkeys, ferrets, pythons, porcupines and lizards, weighing 一 九 五 kilogra妹妹es in all, had been frozen.
Nguyễn Xuân Quân, the house owner, admitted that he purchased the wild animals from some men from Laos and intended to sell the animals for profit.
On the same day, Hà Tĩnh Province police handed about 一0 cubic metres of wood to the provincial Forest Protection Unit after finding it hidden in a truck on National Highway 一A.
The driver, Trần Đình Trung of Quảng Ngãi Province’s La Hà Co妹妹une did not have proper papers to show. He said he was hired to transport the wood to Hà Nội. – VNS
