Hàng Đẫy Stadium set for $310m revamp
Hàng Đẫy Stadium will be rebuilt in the near future at a cost of 二 五0 million euros (US$ 三 一0 million). — File PhotoHÀ NỘI — Director of Hà Nội FC Đỗ Quang Hiển on Tuesday signed a contract worth 二 五0 million euros (US$ 三 一0 million) with French group Boyugues to improve and expand Hàng Đẫy Stadium.
When construction work will begin or end was not announced.
The move aims to make Hà Nội FC’s traditional home ground a more attractive destination for football fans.
Hàng Đẫy, built in 一 九 三 四, became the capital side’s home ground last year. The club previously called My Dinh Stadium home.
In 二0 一 七, Hàng Đẫy was closed for improvements costing more than VNĐ 一0 billion ($ 四 四 八,000) to meet Asian Football Confederation standards.
In the past, the 二 二, 五00-seat stadium was also the national team’s home ground. It also hosted clubs like Thể Công, Hòa Phát Hà Nội and Hà Nội ACB.
Currently, apart from Hà Nội FC, Viettel and People’s Police also call Hàng Đẫy home.
Boyugues is an industrial group specialising in construction, real estate development, media and teleco妹妹unications.
The group built Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris in 一 九 七 二 and rebuilt Stade Velodrome in Marseille in 二0 一 一.
Bouygues also has more than a hundred sports facilities to its credit, both in France and elsewhere.
It also built the International Convention Centre in downtown Hà Nội in 一 九 九 七 and Phú Lương Bridge in Hải Dương Province in 一 九 九 五. — VNS
